An Historic Day in our School ! share
Yesterday was an historic day in Scoil Náisiúnta an Chroí Naofa with the visit of two Naval and One Army Officer to our school to present our National Flag and a copy of the 1916 Proclamation. The ceremony was attended by parents and guests of the school and community.
Our Student Council President Conor Drummy read from the Proclamation and the flag was presented to the youngest and oldest students in the school, Grace-Katherine Gough in Ms Harrington’s Junior Infants and Ryan Fleming in Mr. O’Keeffe’s Sixth Class. This is a once in a lifetime event in our school and we were very proud to accept the flag and sing the National Anthem in memory of the events of 1916. The flag will be raised officially on 15th March 2016 with all the other primary school in the country who will also raise their flags on that day.

It was a great day out and both teams performed wonderfully with the boys emerging victorious and the girls just being narrowly beaten by one point. Here are some photos from the day for you to enjoy. There is a slideshow with many more photos from the day playing on the TV just inside the door of the school. Come along and see who you can spot !
